Produced in the West Lake area of Hangzhou, Zhejiang, Longjing tea has a history of more than 1,200 years. Longjing tea is emerald green in color, rich in aroma, mellow and refreshing, and shaped like a sparrow's tongue. It has the four unique characteristics of "green in color, rich in fragrance, sweet in taste and beautiful in shape".
There are two types of Longjing. The first category is divided into Shifeng Longjing, Meiwu Longjing and West Lake Longjing according to the production area. The second category is divided into Mingqian Longjing, Yuqian Longjing and general Longjing according to the harvesting period of tea.
Tea people have always had a famous saying: "Picking three days early is a treasure, and picking three days late will turn into grass." This is enough to see the impact of several days' temperature changes on the growth of Longjing. Take the "Mingqian tea" picked before the Ching Ming Festival as an example. There are 30,000 to 40,000 buds in 500 grams of tea, which is a treasure of Longjing tea. Picked after the Ching Ming Festival and before the Grain Rain (April 20th in the Western calendar), it is called pre-rain tea, and the overall quality is slightly lower.
